Our next technology phase will include electronic building permits for both residential and commercial, site plan permits, electronic plans review, and IVR with texting capabilities. IVR will allow access 24/7 to schedule and manage inspections over the phone (landline or cellular) to give you the convenience and accessibility to get your work done. IVR can also eliminate the need to visit the Courthouse to conduct business or wait to speak to staff to schedule your inspection. ePermitJC coupled with IVR will provide you with 24/7 access to apply, monitor, and view inspection results, on your permits and applications by internet or telephone.

Notice of Public Hearing Relative to the Adoption of Administrative Amendments of Building, Fuel Gas, Plumbing, and Electrical Code Ordinances
On July 9, 2020, the Jefferson County Commission will hold a public hearing concerning the adoption of administrative changes to correct scriveners errors identified in the 2019 adoption, updating of fees to be consistent with online permitting, clarification of permit expiration, and formatting to ensure all four trade ordinances are consistent in content. Jefferson County, AL has launched ePermitJC February 1st, 2020. The ePermitJC portal allows users to register, apply for and view permits online. We are pleased to announce that customers can upload plans and documents without visiting the County, monitor and track the process of their applications, view corrective comments from our team, pay fees, and more.
