Other Benefits 

Vacation and Sick – 

County Employees accrue paid vacation and sick time as follows: 

0 to 12 years…………………………………………….8 hours per month of service

12 to 25 years………………………….…………….....12 hours days per month of service

Over 25 years…………………………………………...16 hours per month of service

Holidays
For 2023-2024 Fiscal Year, Jefferson County is offering 13 paid holidays and 1 paid variable holiday for the employee to use at any time. The fiscal year begins October 1 and ends September 30.

Sick Leave Retirement Credit 
This plan awards long term employees by allowing accumulated sick time to be used as retirement credit.

Vacation Leave Bank
This plan grants members paid time off in the event of a catastrophic illness or accident.

Jefferson County Retirement System 
All Classified, full time County employees are automatically enrolled in the Jefferson County Retirement System (Pension).  A six percent (6%) contribution to the Pension plan is payroll deducted each pay period.
