Amanda R. Haddin, Law Librarian (

Mandy Haddin, a native of Birmingham, joined the Law Library in August, 2015.

Mandy obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1998) and a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) degree from the University of Alabama (2000).  She previously worked at Beeson Law Library, Cumberland School of Law (1999-2001); Johnston Barton Proctor & Rose LLP (2001-2014), and Cabaniss Johnston Gardner Dumas & O'Neal LLP(2014-2015).   

Mandy is active in several library associations including the American Association of Law Libraries and Law Libraries Association of Alabama.  She has served as LLAA's webmaster since 2001 as well as the Vice President and President (2012-2014).

She has also served on numerous panels at the School of Library and Information Studies, University of Alabama, speaking about the world of law librarianship to library students.

Her presence at the JeffCo Law Library is much anticipated.  She is determined and dedicated to provide the highest quality of service to the library’s patrons.

Mandy lives in Hoover with her husband of 22 years, Pete, and their two children.


Karen Bussey, Library Assistant (

Karen has been with the Law Library since 2000.  She has been a valuable asset throughout the years, developing lasting relationships with many patrons and continues to help the library run smoothly and efficiently.

Karen received an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from Virginia College (1998).  After graduating, Karen worked at the Commerce Legal Center.  She then moved into contract paralegal work dealing with state and federal criminal cases.

In 2000 she was hired as the JeffCo Law Library Assistant.  Karen continues to utilize her vast knowledge to provide excellent service in legal research to all the patrons of the Law Library.   

Karen has three children, seven grandchildren, and lives in Gardendale.


Erica Feagins, Library Assistant (

Erica joined the Law Library in 2018.  She previously worked at Bounds Law Library, University of Alabama School of Law, in the acquisitions department. 

Erica received an Associate degree in Arts from Shelton State Community College (2019) and an Associate of Science General Studies degree with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Calhoun Community College (2019).

She is the mother to a pair of adorable twin girls.  They live in Bessemer.
