Jefferson County Announces New Chief Human Resources Officer |

The Jefferson County Commission welcomes new Chief Human Resources Officer Melody Banks. Banks brings to the County more than 20 years of experience having led the human resource functions for such reputable companies as CRC Insurance Group and Noland Health Services. “We are excited to have Melody on board, she has a laser focus on improving employee engagement at the county and working with our departments to fill the many openings we have,” said Cal Markert, Jefferson County Manager and CEO. “I am very excited to be joining the Jefferson County Commission,” said Banks. “I believe the Commission provides exceptional services to the residents and accomplishes this through its employees. It is an honor and privilege to lead the employee experience efforts for such an influential organization in my community.” Banks received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) and Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Faulkner University, and Juris Doctorate(JD) from the Birmingham School of Law. She is a member of the Alabama Bar Association and a graduate of the Momentum Executive Leadership Program. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Society for Human Resources Management - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Banks was the recipient of the Top HR Executive Award and Top HR Innovator Award from the Birmingham Business Journal, and the Angel Award from Children’s Village. She is active in numerous professional and civic endeavors in the local community. |
