These same dollars could be used to fix potholes and pave more roads. Litter looks bad, reduces property values, and harms the environment and waterways. Jefferson County needs your help to stop these illegal activities and keep our County clean. To report Criminal Dumping, call the Department of Development Services at (205) 325-5321, option 6. Volunteer Cleanup ProgramPeople tend to litter where they feel comfortable, believe they won’t be caught, and may not recognize its impact on their community and the environment. The Jefferson County Commission has partnered with Alabama People Against Litter State (AL PALS) to offer educational materials and volunteer resources for litter cleanup in our communities. These events allow community members to unite with the shared goal of addressing the litter problem in our area. Participating in these events often changes individuals' mindsets, especially when they see the harmful effects of habitual littering on our roadways, waterways, and overall environment. We invite you to join us and organize an event in your community. We provide free resources, including traffic support, cleanup supplies, and disposal of collected trash.
