The Jefferson County Tax Collector is using E-Government to collect property taxes online.

Analogous to e-commerce, which allows businesses to transact with each other more efficiently and brings customers closer to businesses, e-government aims to make the interaction between government and citizens, government and business enterprises, and inter-agency relationships more friendly, convenient, transparent, and inexpensive.

Government To Citizen - Using the County’s Web site, Jefferson County property owners may pay property taxes online.

Government to Business - Using the electronic courthouse, businesses such as mortgage companies can search for public information via the web.

Licensing and Permitting - You can now apply online for some permits and licensing to speed up your construction\development process.
