The Jefferson County Commission today approved an additional reallocation of funds from the State of Alabama for its Emergency Rental Assistance Program ($5 million dollars) and an Alabama Workforce Stabilization grant in the amount of $557,137 from the Department of Education to be administered by the Central Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment or CAPTE for Incumbent Worker Training.  The Training providers will be Jefferson State Community College, Bevill  State Community College, Wallace State, and Lawson State.

Continuing to provide assistance for those affected by COVID-19the Jefferson County Commission approved accepting a reallocation of funds from the State to its ongoing ERAP under the consolidated appropriations Act, 2021,for an amount not to exceed $5 million dollars. To date, the County has spent approximately$12,000,000.00 in ERAP funds directly impacting 1,800 Jefferson County residents. More on the ERAP program can be found here: erap.jccal.org

In addition, to support workforce training in the community, the Commission approved $100,000 for each of the community colleges mentioned above. Some of this training includes technical skills to existing employees of businesses and those seeking training for new job skills.
